Coloradans finding travel deals Denver, November 13 – Although recent surveys show that consumers are scaling back on leisure travel plans for 2009, AAA Colorado believes this is a good time to look at vacation options. "Travel providers know that consumers are concerned about making plans in an uncertain economy," says Sandra Barnes, Director of AAA Colorado Travel Services. "Many providers are offering attractive incentives." A recent nationwide survey by the Travel Industry of America shows a 1.3% decline in leisure travel for 2009. This has motivated the travel industry to offer incentives that provide consumers with the good value they are seeking. In cooperation with AAA, many of the world’s leading travel providers have come forward with special promotional discounts, extras and upgrades to keep American traveling. "One cruise line is offering passengers $400 in shipboard credit to be used for extras like shore excursions or spa treatments. These efforts by our travel partners make this an excellent time to book vacations for 2009," says Barnes. Special offers, available through AAA Colorado until November 22, are intended to boost the number of Americans traveling and spur an increase in overall economic activity in the process. #
